ANTI-WRINKLE
Botox
Botox is a brand name for a type of neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A. It is FDA-approved for cosmetic use and is commonly used to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance. It is mainly used to treat dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movements.
The most commonly treated areas with Botox include
Frown lines
Botox can improve the appearance of vertical lines between the eyebrows, also known as “11 lines” or glabellar lines
Crow's feet
Botox can soften the fine lines and wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes.
Results and duration
The effects of Botox injections are not immediate and typically become noticeable within a few days to a week after the treatment. The results are temporary and normally last for about 3-4 months. As the results wear off, the muscles gradually regain movement, and wrinkles may reappear. To maintain the optimal results, follow-up treatments are typically recommended.
